Everything is decorated so festive, you can't help but smile. Offices and homes all sparkle with tinsel and lights. Your mailbox is filled with Christmas and holiday cards from people near and far. Those cards are no longer limited to just your physical mailbox, your email box can overflow with cards that sing and dance and make you remember Christmas' past.

Christmas and holiday cards are a wonderful way to reconnect with the people who have touched your life in a positive way. Share just a little bit of that holiday sparkle with others, to remind them that you are thinking of them. If you are fundraising, or have hosted a fundraising event of any kind this year, send out a Christmas or holiday card letting them know you appreciate everything they have done to help you this year. During this season of giving it will remind them that their gifts of time or money are making a difference in the lives of others.

Quadriciser Corporation and the Quadriciser Motorized Therapy System strive to make a difference in the lives of our customers every day. I think it says it all. Many of us have situations in our lives that we have no control over. We do, however, have control over the way we treat others, and I think that during the hustle and bustle of the season we forget that.

If you paid any attention to the news casts during Black Friday, you know that the news was filled with reports of people completely taken over by their bad attitudes.

It seems that "Scrooge Syndrome" tends to prevail during the Christmas season. I challenge you to rise above those with bad attitudes, smile and wish them a Merry Christmas! Patients often (1) undergo painful muscle contractions, spasticity, and orthopedic deformities, (2) lose the sensation of pain, a vital safety mechanism that enables healthy individuals to react to danger and discomfort, (3) suffer from an impaired ability to perspire, (4) lose voluntary control of bowel and bladder functions, (5) suffer frequent urinary infections, bladder stones, and gastrointestinal disorders, (6) are susceptible to respiratory disorders, and (7) undergo emotional problems in adjusting to the limitations imposed upon career, marriage, and social relationships.

Prolonged immobilization of the body, whether due to injury, illness, or other causes, has extensive deleterious physiologic and biochemical consequences for practically every major organ and system of the body. Immobilization has dramatic effects on the musculoskeletal system, but most visibly apparent changes produced by immobilization occur in the muscles. Prolonged immobilization results in muscle atrophy.

Until very recently, most medical authorities considered traumatic, disabling injuries to be an irreversible condition. Doctors routinely prescribed physical therapy and rehabilitation and advised victims to accept a lifetime confined to bed or a wheelchair. But today, there is hope. Recent research and preliminary test results using the Quadriciser Motorized Therapy System have been extremely positive.

"Some of the results we are obtaining using the Quadriciser... Upon entry to the Neurological Rehabilitation Program, the patients are evaluated pre and post treatment. In reviewing this data, there is measurable increase in range of motion of most of the peripheral joints. Preliminary findings are also showing measurable increases in motor function. Motor function is, of course, the voluntary control of major muscle groups. Patients that have lost motor function for up to four years to massive brain trauma are regaining these lost functions."

"The Quadriciser Motorized Therapy System is, in our opinion affecting several organ systems. Primarily, our goal is neurological rehabilitation. So, we believe that the Quadriciser is stimulating the Central and Peripheral nervous systems through the excitation of proprioceptors. It also seems to better improve the cardiovascular function in extremities that lie unused due to paralysis. The lymphatic system, which functions on muscular contraction, also seems to be functioning at more optimum levels due to the motion created by the Quadriciser. Its effects are far reaching and must be explored for its considerable medicinal purposes."

New Beginnings Community Center for Brain Injury Rehabilitation

New Beginnings in Medford, New York, has now been up and running for over 6 months. Quadriciser wants to help you overcome that challenge by helping you be sure what you write gets read. Stories capture attention better than a sales pitch. The first paragraph should set the stage, the second paragraph should announce the solution to the problem - the surprise, and the final paragraph should tell the story- the support.

We hope you find this information useful.

Quadriciser Corp.

Quadriciser heads north

We here at Quadriciser Corp are gearing up for a great show at the LeadingAge Annual Meeting and Exposition in Washington, DC starting on October 17-19. It was so bad I could not talk without coughing or completely losing my breath.

After a bad bout of bronchitis, I ended up in the hospital. During my time there, my nurses asked about my home exercise program. I told them about the Quadriciser. I also told them that I wasn't using the arms, only the leg motion. The nurses suggested that when I got home and got back on my exercise routine that I incorporate the arms to improve my circulation and pulmonary function They explained, that by using both the arms and legs I would improve my circulation more and would get more oxygen in my lungs and that might improve my lung function.

Were they ever right! I have not had another bout with bronchitis since, and my lung function has improved so much that I am only taking one maintenance medication for my breathing, and emergency inhaler only when needed, (and I rarely use it), instead of a box full. I can now carry on a long conversation without getting winded. It also took away my restless leg syndrome. I don't have to take medication for it now, either. I use my Quadriciser every day, twice a day for 30 minutes, once in the morning and once at night. It helps me wake up and it helps me sleep better too.

I thank God every day for this machine, I honestly don't know if I would be breathing and walking without it. Let me tell you, it isn't an easy task. At this time every year I begin putting the Quadriciser event calendar together. I do tons of research on conferences and trade shows all across the country, searching high and low for the best places to showcase our Quadriciser Motorized Therapy System.

That may sound easy, but, because of the many attributes of the Quadriciser it can be quite challenging, especially if you would like to catch your breath in between events. In the past we have averaged about one trade show per month, although, there have been times when we would have 3 shows in one month back to back. In addition to the events we also do presentations to therapy centers and long term care companies all over the United States. That's a lot of travel, we go from New York to California and from Canada to Mexico, so you can see, we sometimes wear our wheels off.

The Quadriciser helps to improve the quality of life for so many conditions and each of those conditions will generally have a conference pertaining to their need. There are several great national conferences for highlighting products and information for those with all types of disabilities and special needs, there are conferences for Traumatic Brain Injury, Stroke, Multiple Sclerosis, Parkinson's, Cerebral Palsy, just to name a few; then there are the professionals conferences for therapists, nurses, long term care, etc. So you can see how it can become a race to see where we can get the best exposure for our product, where we can show it to the people who truly need it the most, and we have to make sure the conference is accessible and doesn't conflict with another event. We try to reach every region of the United States at least once during the year.

All that being said, there are many more places to go and so many wonderful people to meet. I am am always on the lookout for new conventions and special events to help us spread the word about the wonderful benefits of the Quadriciser Motorized Therapy System. So, if you know of an amazing convention, trade show, or event send me the information. I'd love to learn more about all the events out there and see if it is a place to showcase our unique equipment. You can contact me by email at cfoth@quadriciser.com or call me at 865-689-5003.

Brrr...Cold, Cold Water

By Charmin Foth

It is time to hit the lake and ski. Say WHAT?! It is January and freezing cold here in Knoxville, Tennessee. Right now as I sit at my desk it is 34 degrees outside and that is the warmest it has been all week, and water temperatures are expected to be around 40 degrees. That's COLD! Who gets out and water skis in this kind of weather?!

Does that matter to my boss, Larry Bohanan? The answer would be a big, fat, NO! At this time every year Larry prepares for the Shut Up and Ski! Eskimo Escapades. This year the Eskimo Escapades is scheduled for Saturday, January 15, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. You can bet Larry will be there, all decked out in his wet-suit raring to go. So if you get the opportunity, and want to show Larry some support, come hang out at Volunteer Landing on Fort Loudon Lake. You will enjoy the show, I promise.

Now, if you have ever seen Larry water ski you will know, he's not your average skier. Sure he can ski with two skis, or slalom ski, but his choice is a bit more daredevil than that. Larry stands on chair that is carefully positioned on a 3 foot diameter disk and then he spins around. This is quite the feat to observe. And, don't get me wrong, I get a kick out of it when we are at a company outing in the summer time, and it's 80+ degrees outside, but how he can do it in January, with just as much of a smile on his face as when he does it in July, is beyond my comprehension. Oh, and did I tell you my boss is 68 years old. My husband is 42 and won't even attempt it. His physical dexterity, Larry says, is all because he uses the Quadriciser Motorized Therapy System for at least 30 minutes every day. So our system can benefit anyone, not just those with limited mobility.

Larry loves this event. He looks forward to the Eskimo Escapades every year, not only because he gets to show his daredevil side, but because it helps people. Anyone who knows Larry, knows he is at his best when he's doing something he loves, and he loves helping people. This year's Escapades benefit Patricia Neal Rehabilitation Center, Dream Connection and Adventure Amputee Camp.

We hope to see you at Volunteer Landing on Saturday. There is suppose to be a heatwave coming. The high expected for Saturday is 41 balmy degrees, who knows what the water temp will be. But hey, if you want to stay in, where it is warm, trust me, I totally understand.

Click here to see more photos of last year's Eskimo Escapades: http://www.eskimoescapades.com/index.php/2009-galleries/82-joomla-license-guidelines

Click here to hear Larry's interview this morning on the Bob Bell Show on Joy620 am

http://www.3592.com/onlinedb/wrjzam/audio/2011.01.11-07.00.00-S.mp3

We Wish You a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

By Charmin Foth

Hello Readers,

This week's blog will be a 2 for 1 deal, as I am on vacation next week. So I hope you have a very Merry Christmas, and since I will not be posting next week, a very Happy New Year!

As another year comes to a close it is a perfect time to reflect on all that come pass in 2010.

It has been a very eventful year here at Quadriciser Corporation. We upgraded our Fundraiser Kit, our promotional DVD and information packets including the business cards. We also rolled out a new model that featured some great improvements on our foot cradle design. I am happy to say that even though the improvements were costly we did not raise the price of our Quadriciser. That makes 7 years without a price increase. I don't know of many companies in this economy that can say that.

The new foot cradles consist of a solid stainless steel frame that attaches to the plastic flexible boot, offering more stability, super strength and longevity. They are easy to change and give your Quadriciser more stability and functionality. And, if purchased with our easy slide on conversion bars can be rotated to face in the opposite direction and you can use the Quadriciser directly from your wheelchair. (Depending upon they style of your chair.) It is an amazing improvement to our previous models.

Now, if you own a model previous to 2010 and have the wire hanging foot cradle, don't feel like you missed out. The new style foot cradles are available as an upgrade package. So, you may want to think about upgrading your unit, as the wire foot cradles are discontinued and soon replacing them will not be an option.

This year we also secured a new add-on accessory to the Quadricser, the ezEnabler™. It is a table, hook and cup holder that is lightweight, durable and most importantly, portable. The table top, hook and cup-holder attaches to your Quadriciser easily. The table gives you a place to put the instruction manual, your i-pod or mp3 player or even a notebook computer close by during your therapy session, the versatile hook can hang items such as keys, cell phones, and bags, and the cup holder gives you a place to keep a drink close by to stay hydrated during your workout.

If you are interested in any of the items mentioned here or want pricing information please give the office a call, 865-689-5003.

After such a great year I am really looking forward to what 2011 will bring. We have more improvements on the drawing board to help our customers get the best results possible from their Quadriciser Motorized Therapy Systems. I will keep you posted on our upgrades and if you have suggestions, I would love to hear them.

I hope you had a really great year and I hope 2011 brings you great happiness and prosperity.

I just feel like something good is about to happen...

By Charmin Foth

Larry Bohanan, CEO and owner of Quadriciser Corporation is a pretty jovial fellow. Most days he walks around the office singing, "I just feel like something good is about to happen..." He is the epitome of a positive attitude. If you didn't know it you would not think that he is 68 years young. For those of you who have met him you know that he is quite the character. So much so that I nominated him this year for the Covenant Platinum Awards.

Every year the Platinum Awards honor "super seniors" whose lives are characterized by vitality, achievement, and the pursuit of new ventures during their senior years. If that isn't Larry Bohanan, I'll eat your hat. Regretfully, Larry did not win the award this year, but I thought I would pass along some interesting facts about the man behind the Quadriciser.

At 68 years old, Larry Bohanan runs circles around most people half his age, and he shows no signs of slowing down anytime soon. He has a puppet ministry, a prison ministry, he is a Christian magician, is an active member of his church and an active member of the Gideon’s, he does trick water skiing, he is an inventor and an entrepreneur. Larry exudes creativity in everything he does and is at his best when he is helping others.

He worked for Lockheed-Martin for 28 years as a graphic designer, helping scientists and engineers with their inventions and patents. Born from the need to help his father, Larry stepped out on faith at the age of 52 and left his successful job to begin a new business, Quadriciser Corporation. Now, 17 years later, Quadriciser Corporation is helping people nationwide in ways only God knew were possible. Larry still runs the company and works more hours than anyone on staff.

Larry Bohanan was brought up in a humble home in the Lonsdale area of Knoxville where he learned the value of a good work ethic and strong Christian morals. He graduated from Rule High School, where he met his wife Patsy. They have been married 47 years and have two children, Jeff and Jennifer and a host of grandchildren.

Larry worked at the White Stores as a butcher and put himself through school for architecture. After years of hard work, he secured a job at the Y-12 plant and Oak Ridge National Laboratory, where he eventually became a supervisor in the Graphic Arts Department.

During his young life he was fascinated with magic and art. He cultivated that love into an amazing ministry of puppets and magic. At work, Larry performed hundreds of magic and puppet shows for safety training but he has always preferred to showcase his talent in a way that was pleasing to God. Larry begins each early morning before work in his prayer garden on the hill, asking God for guidance and wisdom, praying for our leaders, ministers, his loved ones, employees, and those he comes into contact with during the day. At Wallace Memorial, he was a Chairman of Deacons, the Director of Children’s Church, and helped with the bus ministry. While there, Larry used this ministry to keep the youth interested in the Gospel. Larry now showcases his magic as a Gideon, doing Gospel magic shows in the area prisons, and bringing inmates to Christ. Larry has even taken his Gospel magic act overseas in the mission fields of India, Grenada, Brazil, Bolivia, Malaysia, and Singapore. Larry is a member of the Fellowship of Christian Magicians and is an active member at Grace Baptist Church.

Larry is an artist in many mediums. He sculpts, carves, does pen and ink drawings, paints, does mosaics, draws cartoons, is a photographer and videographer. There is no project to small and the words, “I can’t” have never been heard from his lips. He is always doing something to lift someone’s spirits or motivate them. He loves it when he can draw up a little cartoon or make a balloon animal and see people smile and feel better about themselves.

Larry is the “fun papa” for his eight (almost nine) grandchildren. He is always creating new ways for them to have fun; the Bohanan house has zip lines, swings, waterfalls and tree houses, all built by Larry. He is not one to stand on the sidelines and watch the kids play, he is usually the first one in line for the roller coasters when they all caravan off to Dollywood for a weekend of fun.

In addition to playing with his grandchildren, Larry loves to water ski, but he is not your typical skier. At the age of 68 Larry still skis in the Eskimo Escapades every year. Knoxville's City View Magazine has several photos of him in publication. At a time when most young men cower from the cold, Larry is out there skiing on a round platform, placing a chair on the platform, standing on the chair and then spinning around. The upper body strength and balance required to do that is truly amazing. Larry attributes his strength and ability to balance himself to his daily use of the Quadriciser Motorized Therapy System. Larry is also the tester for all of the machines manufactured. Before any improvement goes into production Larry tests it out on his own machine in his strenuous daily workouts. I do not think the word “retirement” is in Larry Bohanan’s vocabulary.

Bohanan has always had a knack for making things work. In 1993 his father’s doctor told him that they would have to amputate the senior Bohanan’s leg. When Bohanan asked the physician what he could do, the reply came, “He just lays there, if we could get some movement and circulation going we might be able to postpone or prevent the amputation.”

Stunned, Bohanan left the hospital trying to think of ways to mobilize his father’s limbs and increase his circulation. Bohanan had tried to work his father’s limbs himself but had little success gaining the much-needed circulation. That evening he had formulated a plan that might just work. By the weekend he had it built and ready for a test run.

Bohanan eased the machine onto his father’s bed and put his legs into the very first Quadriciser®. His father had not opened his eyes in two days, but as the machine started working, he began looking around to see what was happening. Soon legs and arms were moving and stretching, slowly bring life back into the atrophied limbs.

Four days later, the senior Bohanan’s doctor was amazed at the change in his patient. Twenty-five minutes, three times a day had renewed the circulation in the bad leg and it was enough to postpone the amputation for six months. Bohanan’s father later developed an infection in his other foot and amputation loomed, yet again. It seemed the foot needed better circulation. Larry came up with the idea of making the ankle flex in more of a walking motion. This created enough circulation and the infection healed. Larry noticed during this time that it had healed his father’s pressure sores and ulcerated skin as well.

Over the years the machine has evolved and Larry’s experiences have helped him patent the Quadriciser® Motorized Therapy System, a passive/active, isometric, motorized therapy machine that offers hope to many individuals unable to use conventional equipment. The walking motion of the Quadriciser® moves an individual’s lower and upper limbs through varying ranges of motion without any assistance from the individual. According to many physicians and physical therapists this movement has a significant impact on an individual’s overall health by increasing circulation, heart rate, range of motion, strength, muscle tone, balance, bowel and bladder function as well as improving the psychological well being of those who use the Quadriciser®. All of these sum up the Quadriciser® motto, “Movement Equals Improvement!”

Now Larry is constantly inventing improvements and additions to the machine. Trying to find new ways to help get people moving again. Individuals, therapy centers, nursing homes and hospitals that now own Quadricisers, have sent in countless testimonials about the machine. Many say it has taken them to “the next level of therapy.” Where they were once unable to withstand fifteen minutes of therapy before they now experience hours of therapy without discomfort or pain.

Larry designed it originally to assist the physical aspects of therapy, but many therapists began to recognize the neurological benefits to patients, such as better speech, sensory stimulation, and right-brain/left-brain function. Many physicians have noted that in certain instances neurological activities that have been dormant for years become active again.

Larry believes his job now is as much a mission and a calling to help others as anything he has ever done in his life. Never could he have imagined all the conditions that the Quadriciser® helps. He definitely believes God is helping improve the quality of life for those who have had a stroke, spinal cord injury, traumatic brain injury, cerebral palsy, multiple sclerosis, muscular dystrophy, Parkinson's Disease, fibromyalgia, Lou Gehrig's / ALS, Alzheimer's, dementia, arthritis and more by giving Larry the ability to invent this machine.

Larry is determined to help as many people as possible and travels to trade shows all over the United States and has helped hundreds of people with this amazing invention. What can Larry do to help you get a Quadriciser today?

Tis the Season...for fundraising?

By Charmin Foth

Many of the families I work with do fundraisers to help with the expense of the Quadriciser Motorized Therapy System. Some families raise funds for the whole amount and some finance the Quadriciser for about $315 per month and do fundraising to make the payments and most pay it off early this way.

Many people ask the question, "Should I raise funds during the holidays?"

While holidays are a busy time for most families it is not necessarily a good or bad time to do a fundraiser. I know of many successful fundraisers during holiday times, but I have also seen fundraisers tank during the holiday season. Much of a fundraisers success has to do with planning. There are several things to consider before embarking on a fundraiser during the holidays, or for that matter, at any time.

What is your game plan? To have a successful fundraiser you must be prepared and have a game plan in place.

How do you get a game plan? Do you have a group of people who feel as strongly about what you are doing as you do? If so, I would recommend forming a committee.

I can't stress enough the value of a good committee willing to help you reach your goal. Your committee can be 2 people or 10, that is up to you. Get together and discuss your goal and brainstorm about how you can reach that goal. Be sure to keep the lines of communication open throughout the fundraising process.

This brainstorming can help you determine what type of fundraiser you want to have. You need to determine what makes the most sense for you or your committee.

Different people have different talents, make the most of the talents in your group. Here are some examples:

Some people may be great at getting donations or help on the phone but not good in person and vice-versa.

Someone may be good at organization but not at motivating the group.

Some people may have connections to local businesses that would be willing to help but they may not know how to approach them.

Someone may be good at social media marketing, (things like Facebook, MySpace, etc.) but not good at designing flyers.

All of these things can be important, my point is, don't pile everything on one person if you have a group with various talents. Know your committee. The key is to talk about everyone's likes and dislikes and about things they may have seen in other venues that have been successful. Everyone in your committee should have a role to play, just don't try to put the round peg into the square hole.

Have everyone in the committee contribute fundraising ideas and then talk about what you need to make each idea work. Sometimes what sounds good in theory doesn't work in reality or it takes more investment than you have available. So as a group you have to be very honest about what you are ready and willing to do.

Once you have made a decision about what your fundraiser will be, set a timeline for when you want your fundraiser to be. Then work backwards create a list of things that have to be completed one week before, two weeks before, three weeks before and so on. Visualizing the event both forwards and backwards can help you avoid pitfalls and give everyone mini goals to shoot for along the timeline.

Recruiting volunteers can be an easy task if you have a good committee willing to ask friends, relatives, schoolmates, support groups and businesses to help. Just remember they are volunteers, they may not be as dependable as you would like them to be, so plan for contingencies. It is always, good to have a back up plan.

Be sure you let volunteers know what you expect of them and give them exact details of what you want done and at what time you want it done. They are volunteers not mind readers. You know all the aspects of the fundraiser you are doing, and because of that you may assume everyone else does too. It can become very easy to forget what you told, to who. Don't fall into the “But I told you...” trap.

The big question you need to ask yourself and your committee is, “How dedicated are you going to be?” Don't let anyone fool you, fundraising is work. Are you willing to put in some extra hours to make your fundraiser a success? With a great idea, some hard work and proper planning you can be successful.

There are many things you can do to help make fundraising fun. The thing I love about fundraising is you can do almost anything. It doesn't have to be car wash or golf tournament if those things are not what excites you.

Whatever you decide to do as a fundraiser, you need to be excited about it, and passionate about why you are doing it. If a motorcycle poker run is something you think would be fun and you know people who would be interested in it, you have a really good chance of being successful with it as long as it is well planned and well publicized.

Don't be afraid to call the local news outlets and let them know what you are doing and why you are doing it. Use social media and avenues like youtube, ask your friends and family to share the news about what you are doing. Get the word out and it will help your fundraising efforts tremendously.

Are you set up as a non-profit? If so, utilize PayPal and add it to your website, this way people can go online and donate by credit card. Not a non-profit? Don't worry, depending upon your situation there are philanthropic organizations out there that can help with fundraising through their organization. A word to the wise, do your homework and check out any organization before you do anything.

I wish you luck in all your fundraising efforts, be it during the holidays or throughout the year. I would love to hear your fundraising success stories. Your idea might help another family trying to raise funds.

Here is a link to our latest Fundraising video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b6ztGFBWLqo. Time goes by so quickly, before you know it Christmas will be upon us. Are you ready for a Christmas miracle?

I consider it a miracle to get through the season with a cheerful, hopeful attitude, trying to keep an eye out for the little miracles that happen all around me every day. With the hustle and bustle of the season, we can easily forget our grateful attitudes. We barely remember those things that were lifted up in our Thanksgiving prayers.

I know I personally avoid the mall and Wal-Mart from November until January because of the sheer number of rude people grumbling, pushing and shoving their way through the stores. Where is the joy, the faith, all the things that are suppose to make this season special?

One of my favorite Christmas movies is Miracle on 34th Street, I love it when Doris says, "Faith is believing when common sense tells you not to. Don't you see? It's not just Kris that's on trial, it's everything he stands for. It's kindness and joy and love and all the other intangibles."

Many of the people I meet when I travel the country for Quadriciser are people just like that. People who have faith when doctors, therapists, acquaintances, and common sense tells them otherwise. They keep trying, when there seems to be no hope at all. Their spirit will not let them give up. They cling to joy, love and all the other intangibles.

One of our customers has a little girl who suffered a traumatic brain injury in a terrible way. She was shot in a school shooting. It is hard to imagine the parents grief at what happened. Her other classmates died that day. This amazing little girl held on to life but the outcome was not at all hopeful. The doctors said she could not live with her injury and it was better to remove her from life support.

The parents had to face the unbearable, they took her off life support and brought her home to die. But this little girl had such spirit, against all odds, she refused to die. Her parents began taking her to Hyperbaric Oxygen Treatments in hope that it would help bring her back. It was there she began using the Quadriciser Motorized Therapy System in conjunction with the HBOT treatments.

Before she began the combined therapy she just stared glassy-eyed into space. After several rounds of treatment, her father called the office excited about the changes he saw in his daughter. His daughter had begun to show signs of improvement. She began to focus on those around her. He felt if she could use the Quadriciser all the time her chances of improvement were greater still, so he purchased the Quadriciser for home.

Two weeks after having the Quadriciser at home and using it every day changes began to take place. Changes that doctors told him would never happen, changes that lifted his spirit and gave he and his wife hope. The little girl was still focusing on those around her but now she was laughing at her little brother.

After another two weeks passed Larry Bohanan, the company's president called to see how things were going. The father was so overjoyed that Larry had called. He said they were faithfully using the Quadriciser every day. The changes in his daughter we so dramatic he could hardly believe it. He said she had begun to sleep through the night, she had continued to laugh appropriately at things around the house and it seemed as if she wanted to talk. Amazingly, the little girl had begun to move in the same quadrupedal pattern as the Quadriciser, when they put her into bathwater.

A few weeks later, her father called back again with an exuberant status report. She had begun making noises and they thought she had said something a few times but were unsure. Then her best friend before the shooting, came to visit her. Her friend walked in, the little girl said, "Hi!" It was only one word, clearly articulated, and said with purpose, but that one word confirmed the faith the family had stood upon since the shooting. There is still hope. Never, ever give up.

I am in awe of the things that happen in our lives. We just have to have the faith to open our eyes and see the gifts God has for us, regardless of our situation or surroundings.

Keep believing when common sense tells you not to, and keep your eyes open, miracles, big and small, are all around us. Let me know what your miracles are this holiday season.

Giving Thanks...

A local Christian radio station, here in Knoxville, is playing an ad reminding people to "give thanks in all things." The girl in the ad prays a litany of things she is thankful for, things like plumbing and plankton in the oceans. It is a great reminder that we have so many things to be thankful for, even the everyday things we may take for granted.

In difficult times being thankful can be a hard task. We know many of you face challenges we can't even begin to imagine. Yet, even amidst huge trials, there are so many things you are thankful for. If you are unfamiliar with Andy he is an energetic, wildly animated speaker who, in his jumping from one subject to the next, brings you to some very intense core issues that can change lives. He is the author of many books, my favorite being, "The Noticer."

In the beginning of the book, Jones, (the Noticer) says something profound to a young Andrews. "Think with me here... everybody wants to be on the mountaintop, but if you'll remember, mountaintops are rocky and cold. There is no growth on the top of a mountain. Sure the view is great, but what's a view for? A view just gives us a glimpse of our next destination-our next target. But to hit that target, we must come off the mountain, go through the valley and begin to climb the next slope. It is in the valley that we slog through the lush grass and rich soil, learning and becoming what enables us to summit life's next peak."

Here at Quadriciser Corporation I get to meet many people who are trudging through the valley working to get to the next mountaintop. People, who instead of wallowing in the valleys, and never trying to climb to higher ground, have the amazing perspective to see the upcoming mountaintop.

One such person is Matthew Blaylock. A dynamic young man who had the sports world taking notice of his talents on the field. He dominated the football field and his nickname was "the Hulk." On the eve of his high school graduation Matthew went out with some buddies and dove into a community pool and broke his C4-C5 vertebrae, leaving him paralyzed.

It has been 18 months since Matthew's accident and where most young people would wallow in the valley of self pity, Matthew has kept his eye on the mountaintop. He continues to have faith in God and his recovery. His mother Carla and his family are strong influences in his life, lifting him up with encouragement and he in turn encourages others. Recently Matthew spoke at a banquet for the Fellowship of Christian Athletes, where his message was, "When you get faced with something that's hard," he says, "push on. And good things will come."

And good things are coming for Matthew, in many ways. He was recently highlighted on a local news broadcast in Atlanta. Matthew is such a great young man, with an exceptional attitude and outgoing spirit, he has such potential that no wheelchair will keep him from the mountaintop. Go Matthew, I can't wait to see what great things you will accomplish. For more information about Matthew visit his website http://www.mattblaylock.info.

Now my question to you is... Where are you now, the valley or the mountaintop? Are you learning from your valleys and striving for the next mountaintop? Push on.

Great presentation today to a long term care headquarters in Ohio!

Expecting a great meeting with nursing home execs Wednesday in Cincinnati Ohio!

Congratulations to the French & Spvoda families on getting a Quadriciser Motorized Therapy System last week. It just isn't in our human nature. We want to grow old and watch our children grow up and become whatever it was they wanted to be when they were little; the fireman, the police man, the butcher, the baker, the candlestick maker.

But, all too often disaster strikes and God calls a loved one home before we want him to. Disaster can come in many forms. Be it accident or illness, it is never easy to face that loss.

A woman who had lost someone very dear to her recently inspired me. She told me it wasn't her time, but it was his. And the way she saw it was that he had gone on early to save a place for her, and that she would see him again, in a while, when her time came. She held no sorrow, because where he was, she would be also. Her heart was full of precious memories that would keep him close, until then.

What an amazing way to handle the passing of someone you love. That analogy spoke volumes to me and I wish someone had shared it with me when I was younger. It might have saved me some heartache. But what is past is past and we hopefully learn from the scars. As Larry Bohanan likes to say, "We turn our scars into stars and our trials into triumphs."

I believe that is true of many of us. We see so many people at Quadriciser who have amazing stories of struggle and triumph. I am in awe of the strength and the perseverance of the human spirit, but more than that I am in awe of the people who give so much to make life so wonderful for others.

Our dear seamstress Opal is just such a person and yesterday she lost her son to grueling battle with cancer. I pray that helps her know that her son just went to save a place for her and she will see him with arms open wide, in a while.

Until Then.

The History of the Quadriciser

The History of Quadriciser

In 1993 Larry Bohanan’s diabetic father was seven days away from losing his leg to gangrene. The gangrene had advanced up his father’s right foot after a series of strokes had left him paralyzed.

Bohanan eased the machine onto his father’s bed and put his legs into the very first Quadriciser. His father had not opened his eyes in two days, but as the machine started working, he began looking around to see what was happening. Soon legs and arms were moving and stretching, slowly bring life back into the atrophied limbs.

Four days later, the senior Bohanan’s doctor was amazed at the change in his patient. 25-minutes, three times a day had renewed the circulation in the bad leg and it was enough to postpone the amputation for six months. He later developed an infection in his other foot. It seemed the foot needed better circulation. Larry came up with the idea of making the ankle flex as in more of a walking motion. This created enough circulation and the infection healed. Larry also noticed it had healed his father’s bedsores and ulcerated skin.

Bohanan said, “Dad started talking and began to recognize us. The change took us all by surprise.”

The Quadriciser was born and it improved the quality of life for Larry Bohanan’s father.

The simplicity of the machine is inspiring. Bohanan designed the machine to help with the physical symptoms his father was dealing with, not knowing the neurological benefits the machine would have on its users.

After his father’s death, Bohanan’s 84-year-old mother began experiencing signs of dementia. Larry had heard that circulation improves brain function so his mother began using the Quadriciser daily and her memory improved along with her mobility.

Bohanan’s cousin a C3/C4 quadriplegic from a motorcycle accident 11 years prior, also benefitted from use of the machine. After just nine days of using the Quadriciser he surprised himself when his cowboy hat blew off his head and he caught it.

Bohanan was a graphic designer at Oak Ridge National Laboratory for 28 years before starting Quadriciser Corp. and had illustrated countless inventions for patent applications. That experience helped him patent the Quadriciser, a passive, isometric, motorized therapy machine that offers hope to many individuals unable to use conventional equipment. The walking motion of the Quadriciser moves an individual’s lower and upper limbs through varying ranges of motion without any assistance from the individual. According to many physicians and physical therapists this movement has a significant impact on an individual’s overall health by increasing circulation, heart rate, range of motion, strength, muscle tone, balance, bowel and bladder function as well as improving the psychological well being of those who use the Quadriciser. All of these sum up the Quadriciser motto, “Movement Equals Improvement!”

Individuals, therapy centers, nursing homes and hospitals that now own Quadricisers have sent in countless testimonials about the machine. Many say it has taken them to “the next level of therapy.” Where they were once unable to withstand fifteen minutes of therapy before they now experience hours of therapy without discomfort.

Designed originally to assist the physical aspects of therapy, many therapists began to recognize the neurological benefits to patients, such as better speech, sensory stimulation and right-brain/left-brain function. Many physicians have noted that in certain instances neurological activities that have been dormant for years become active again.

Quadriciser currently offers three models, a wheelchair model, a deluxe seat model and a child model.

For more information about the Quadriciser visit www.quadriciser.com.
